This was a dark tale that was fascinating to read, very difficult to put down, and full of spankings. A brilliant story all round!
A change for my favorite author. A darker story but written with all the elements one finds in Delta's books. A great story, wonderful characters and yes in true Delta style - respect, romance and humor. Proving that it is possible, even in a darker tale, that those elements, often missing in many books of this genre, are possible.I enjoyed how Drake has to adjust his thinking and life to the fiesty heroine who is his newest "Tribute," Raegan's reaction to being the Chosen One is not enthusiastic. The pivotal moment comes when she must decide is the cost of her freedom worth a man's life?I really loved this book especially the ending - and you really will never look at bottled water quite the same way.
Holy hotness, loved Raegan and Drake. Believe that why all the others didnt do well, they weren't mates . Where as Drake and Raegan were made for each other.Loved that Raegan was no push over. Enjoyed reading virgin tribute . Amazing book . One I will read again .
Not sure where all the five stars are coming from..I knew this was a Dark Romance novel, but since I just read a YA novel "The Tainted" and loved it..I was excited to find a novel that sounded like the adult version. Man, was I disappointed.I initially really liked the lead female, Reagan was strong willed, opinionated, and brave, but I would have liked to know a bit more on how she became this way when she was raised in a village where females were brainwashed to submissive and obedient. When chosen to be the Tribute to the mutated beast that keeps them safe, she fights and finds a way to escape before the beast can take her. Once the beast finds her, it goes down hill from there...Drake, the beast, is a dominant Alpha male and cruel mate. He doesn't view Raegan as anything more than a broodmare to produce children he wants only to find a cure for mankind, no they would be subjected to experiments. Not because he loves Reagan or even wants to be a father. He punishes Reagan by spanking her repeatedly until her bottom is red, raw, and so painful that's she's sobbing in distress. It doesn't matter to him that she's repeatedly told him she doesn't like it or that it hurts. He punishes her for things that she is unaware that are wrong...like saving his life.In the end, she becomes a submissive sex slave, none of her original personality intact. The sex scenes repeat the same thing over and over, Drake spanking her raw while she cries, Reagan on her knees, and Drake making no effort to get to know his mate's mind or body.I love my Alpha's possessive and dominant, but also affectionate and loving towards their mates. Even when he suspected she was going to be his lifemate and the one to bear his children, he still treated her like crap. I don't think I could recommend this book.

I loved the first chapter of this book. That girl was someone I can admire. She was honest, forthright, cut through the manure and told it like it’s was. She didn’t allow the sanctuary people to hide behind their comfortable lies I thought she was awesome! Halfway through the next chapter I’m wondering “where’d she go?†The girl who ran away and attempted to kill herself to avoid having sex with the beast is 60 seconds later begging him to have sex with her and I’m left wondering huh?? WTF? The rest of the book is long on repetitive sex and short on story. Did a different author write the first chapter? I liked that Raegan. Not so much the doormat Raegan we end up with.
